Golf Training Aids – Medicus Golf Club

Medicus Golf Club Training Device

The golf industry has taken a new movement in the 21st century. There are thousands of companies marketing golf training aids these days.

The reason behind this would have to be that the majority of golfers today are average golfers. These golfers cannot afford the expensive lessons from the golf pro’s, so most turn to training aids in which they can watch a video and use a device which will help improve the mechanics of their game. These inexpensive replacements for actual lessons can be good and bad, depending on the traing aid you choose.

With so many products on the market which one do you want to invest in? Here is a detailed list of some the best training aid products out there.

1. Leaderboard – A product use by over 40 Tour Pro’s like Stuart Appleby, K.J. Choi, Adam Scott, Zack Johnson, and many more. It helps you build core strength, increases your fitness level and power, and helps you develop a solid, repeatable golf swing which you can take to the course. The Leaderboard will train your body to make consistent golf swings that have increased power and accuracy.

2. Practice Like The Pro’s – A four DVD set with expert advice from professional golfers on how to improve your scores by improving your short game. The four disc set includes short game tips, analysis of your "scoring clubs", key mental strategies, and easy to follow 20 minute pre game routine. This training tool DVD set finally reveals some of the secrets which the pro’s use to score low and maximize their chance for success in the "scoring zone".

3. P3ProSwing Golf Swing Analyzer and Simulator – This training aid allows golfers of all ages and skill levels to practice the game they love in the comfort of their own home. The P3ProSwing is unlike a lot of swing analyzers on the market today. With 65 infrared sensors located directly in impact zone of the golf shot, it gives you instant feedback on your ball distance, club speed, swing path angle, club face angle, and more. With different packages and price ranges the P3ProSwing can be utilized by both amateurs and seasoned veterans of the game.

4. Medicus Dual Hinge Driver - This revolutionary product is unlike alot of hinged golf club training tools. With the Medicus you can actually hit golf balls and see instant feedback on the range. It is made up of a driver with a patented dual hinge on the shaft. The Medicus driver teaches you to swing in tempo and on plane. When you swing the driver it will hinge when you make the smallest of mistakes. When you make a good swing the driver will stay together and you will be able to make contact with ball. You can see improvements in your swing in a very short amount of time.

The products listed are some of the most popular and highly rated golf training products on the market. While these products do not replace a professional golf lesson they will help make an average golfer’s score drop in no time and all products are very affordable.

How Does the Medicus Trainer Facilitate the Stack and Tilt Golf Swing?

How Medicus Trainer Golf Club can improve Stack and Tilt Golf Swing

Medicus Dual Hinge 7 Iron Medicus is chosen by golf pros as top swing trainer club in the world. Try now!

This article will explain how the Medicus trainer golf club facilitates the famous Stack and Tilt golf swing that has been very popular in recent years. In fact about a couple of dozen PGA Tour pros have adopted this swing technique. But first of all we need to discuss what the Stack and Tilt golf swing is and subsequently what are its advantages and disadvantages.

The Stack and Tilt Golf Swing

In a nutshell, the Stack and Tilt golf swing advocates that a golfer’s weight should remain toward the front and not shift to the back during the swing. Another way to look at it is that the head should remain in the same place during the swing. Some golfers have the tendency to "sway" during the golf swing, and in fact this works for some players. But it can only be effective if the golfer can have his club hit the ground at the right spot consistently and if the proper weight transfer occurs which will allow the player to hit the ball squarely.

In fact some teaching pros advocate moving the body backward during the swing, especially with the driver, and keeping the body weight and the head position behind the ball in order to generate more power.

stack and tilt golf swing

The Stack and Tilt requires almost the opposite in body position. That is, most of the weight is on the left side, say perhaps 60%, and remains there during the backswing. If you can picture a stick being placed in the ground that touches the golfer’s left hip, his left side should remain touching against that stick throughout the swing.

This would be for a right handed golfer, and the opposite would be the case for a lefty. If a player swings in such a fashion, his shoulders will be lined up vertically at the top of the backswing and "stacked" over the left hip (again for a right handed golfer). Since the body has turned and the player’s back is more or less facing the target, his spine will necessarily tilt somewhat.

So that is where the "Stack and Tilt" expression comes from. It would seem to be easier to just think about keeping the head in the same place and making the swing after setting up with about 60% of the player’s weight on the front foot.

How Does the Medicus Trainer Facilitate the Stack and Tilt?

The Medicus trainer helps a golfer who wants to emulate the Stack and Tilt swing. The Medicus Trainer has been specifically designed to break, or become unhinged, at six different parts of the golf swing if swing faults occur. Here is an article that explains all six of these mechanisms in detail: Medicus Driver. The Medicus trainer aids in attaining a Stack and Tilt movement specifically at the moment of ball impact. That is, if the golfer’s weight is positioned too far behind the ball at impact the Medicus trainer will become unhinged. This would be a pretty weird feeling to have the club break just as the ball is being hit. I doubt most golfers would want to repeat that type of thing, and in that way the Medicus almost forces the golfer to correct his swing fault.

Why Bother With All This?

The Stack and Tilt swing was promoted to facilitate hitting the golf ball squarely. If the player’s weight is to the rear, it is possible he or she will not be able to successfully transfer weight to the left side (again, for a righty). The result is an open or closed clubface at impact, depending on how the player’s body tries to compensate for the error. However, some teaching pros feel that the Stack and Tilt approach is not for everyone. Some high handicap players have too much weight towards their front foot already, and they also do not have the athletic ability to get through the ball squarely. For those players the stack and tilt is a bad idea.

Golf Swing Trainers – Medicus Dual 2000 5-Iron Trainer

Medicus Dual 2000 5-Iron Trainer

My golfing partner got his dual-hinge club a couple of years ago now. He read the directions and began by working the club from takeaway to parallel or the half-way point of the backswing.

He learned that his takeaway was too fast and sudden. The hinge would break right away! He tended to jerk the club right at the start. He worked on that by relaxing his grip and focusing on creating a smoother start to the swing.

From there he was able to get the club back to about halfway (parallel to the ground) where the club would break tellinghim that the club was too vertical. He was cupping his wrist and getting way off plane at that point. He corrected this by relaxing the right hand and allowing the left hand to rotate up to the top properly while keeping the butt end of the club pointed toward the target line behind the ball.

Once he was able to consistently reach the top without the hinge breaking he began to work on the transition and downswing. This was wherehe learned he was suffering from the dreaded "over the top" downswing fault.

golf swing sequence

He would feel the hinge break just as he started the downswing. He began to work his lower body forward first with a slight kick of his left knee toward the target, then a gentle hip turn away from the ball at which point the upper body drops the club down a bit toward the right side. That allowedhim to swing from the top properly.

He was good from that point until the club would break again about the halfway point in his follow through. That break indicatedhe had "held on" too long not allowing the right hand to move over the top of the left hand in the through swing. Sort of a mirror image of the fault he had in his backswing.

The swing training system diagnosed his problems quickly and clearly. The best part is that he was able to improve his problem areas when the club identified them all in the same session. He even carried it withhim during our rounds (We didn’t care about the 14 club rule). He would swing that club to warmup on the first tee and occasionally during the round if the old faults began to creep back into his swing.

He is happy to give you his full and complete recommendation for the Medicus Training Aide. That dual hinge club sure works wonders.

The Medicus Training System has been around for a very long time now. It remains among the top sellers proving it has stood the test of time. No matter what kind of golfer you are or your golfing skill level, this system will help you practice perfectly. It will automatically prevent you from swinging incorrectly. You will get immediate feedback on your swing allowing you to know the feel of a proper golf swing.

You will learn how to swing with confidence resulting in long term consistent results on the golf course. My friend and playing partnerwas very satisfied with how he was able to take what he learned from the club to the course. You will too.

What Are The Best Golf Swing Trainers And How To Get The Most Out Of Your Golf Swing Training Aids

When most people discuss golf swing trainers, they mean those modified hinged clubs made by Medicus and Momentus. These clubs are meant to help you train and perfect your golf swing mechanics. When you swing your club wrongly, these trainers will "break" apart.

Do these golf swing trainers work? Yes, if you know the theory of how to swing your golf club correctly. In addition, you need to know if you are using a one plane swing or a two plane swing. Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh use the one plane swing, while Jack Nicklaus and many other golf pros use the two plane swing. Which type of swing is that golf swing trainer designed for? If you have any doubts, write in to the manufacturer and ask them. Face it, these things are not cheap.

Companies like Medicus and Momentus produce golf swing trainers for both drivers and irons. Their golf swing training drivers are the most useful. Face it, you will use your driver 10% to 20% of your time in a round of golf, but use each iron only two or three times. Getting the golf swing trainer for the driver will give you the most bang for the buck. Another machine you may find useful is the golf swing plane trainer. This is a pretty bulky machine, available in some golf clubs and golf schools. Golf instructors sometimes use it to help train their students to master the correct golf swing mechanics. Used correctly, this machine will help you to master the correct tempo and swing your club in the correct plane.

By far, the cheapest and most useful golf swing training aids are golf club training grips. The training grip will teach you how to grip a golf club correctly. You will be surprised how many weekend golfers find their slices and other golfing problems disappearing once they learn how to grip their golf clubs correctly. Amazon is selling these training grips for $5 to $15. However, it is better if you get it from your local golf shops or golf schools, where they can help you get the correct fit. Unless you have a big budget to blow, you should get your putter fitted first. After all, you spend 30% to 40% of your time on the green. The next clubs to get fitted would be your wedges. Most golfers spend another 15% to 20% of their time chipping up to the green. Last is your driver.

Another excellent golf swing training aid is a video camera and tripod and plenty of cheap golf balls. Just spend some time capturing a video of yourself swinging your club at hundreds of golf balls and you will soon see your most obvious mistakes. When you can no longer spot any mistakes in your golf swing techniques, this is the time to schedule more advanced golf swing lessons with your local pro.

My favorite golf swing training aids are the video camera and training grips, followed by golf swing trainers for drivers. Combine these with some judicious help from your local golf pro, and you will quickly lower your golf handicap.

Golf Swing Training Aids

Golf Swing Training Aids

Everyone is looking for the best golf swing training aid that will straighten our that slice or make the ball stop like a dime when it lands on the green. And are there a lot of them out there just waiting for you and your hard earned money.

You can find footprints that can help you stance, specially designed golf balls, contraptions that hold you still as you duplicate that perfect and many, mechanical devices. There is also a full compliment of videos, DVD’s, books and
diagrams, all guaranteed to shave shots off your score.

Some of these teaching aids are great and some are complete rip offs. The secret is to decide exactly what part of your game you need toimprove and then find a teaching aid that focuses on that particular golf skill. Then, use the darn thing.

cheap dual hinged medicus swing trainer

Not, just on your way to the course , but set up a daily schedule and follow it. Maybe its only for ten minutes, but that’s fine.
Simply put, golf swing training aids help your body memorize the correct muscle movement as you swing the golf club. The more you repeat the exercise, the faster your brain will retain the action and send the plan along to the appropriate muscle groups.

The PGA pros didn’t develop their great golf swings by accident. They all spend thousands of hours swinging all of their golf clubs is every possible situation they can experience on the golf course. That’s why is looks so easy on Sunday afternoon.

Most amateurs are interested in golf teaching aids that focus on the actual golf swing. However, a training aid that works for your driver, probably won’t help make that delicate chip stop a few feet from the cup. They are completely different golf shots and use different muscle groups. Therefore, it is best to shop for a training aid that specifically addresses the specific part of your golf game you want to improve.

Before buying, do some research. The best place for this is online. Google golf training aids and start to check out some of the web sites that show up in your browser. Don’t get drawn in by the hype. Remember, you are simply gathering information. The buying comes later. Is the site, just selling or do they offer helpful information about improving your golf game and specific reasons why their product will solve your problem. A great place to get information is the FAQ page. If the web site doesn’t have one or it is stuffed full of hype, go somewhere else.

Make sure the web site is not a one product wonder. Credible online golf training aid web sites offer a wide variety of golf teaching aids. This lets you know they are professionals and serious about their business. Finally, see if any "name" golf professionals endorse or even better, participate in developing and presenting some instruction with their training aids. The men and women have a reputation and simply aren’t interested in promoting a training aid that won’t help the golfer.

Golf swing training aid companies like Medicus have been around for years and offer tried and true products. Their patented double hinged golf training club is designed to break, or become unhinged, when the swing isn’t quite right. Using the Medicus clubs at the driving range or in the back yard is a great way to shore up a weak swing. Originally, Medicus offered a simple single hinged training club, but after some feed back from golf teaching pros the double hinged golf training club was born. It seems students could cheat a bit by twisting the club at the top of their swing. This fanning motion, kept the training club together, but certainly didn’t help improve the golf swing. Now there is one hinge for the back swing and a second for the down swing.

The Medicus golf training aid is one of our favorites. It may or may not help you swing, but it is certainly worth checking out.

Whatever golf training aid you choose, stick with it. Believe in it and above all practice with it.

Let Medicus Develop You Better Golf Swing Tempo

Do You Want Better Tempo In Your Golf Swing

Are you a spastic with your golf swing? Do you tomahawk from the top of your backswing? I don’t mean to get right at it, but what i am talking about is tempo of your golf swing? Tempo is a topic that is not talked about enough when it comes to a consistent golf swing.

When you think of tempo, don’t you picture Fred Couples, Retief Goosen or even Ernie Els? Do you site a "hit motion" in their golf swing? You don’t! They take it back smoothly and bring it down in the same fashion. No jerk, ballistic movement or hit in those golf swings.

Tips For Tempo

There are dozens of tips in regards to improving your tempo. One good one is counting. Get into a rythmn with your swing by counting one on the way back, two at the top (give it a little pause) and three on the way down. Be consistent with this and you will see your tempo improve.

golf swing tempo

Another tip is "think smooth". If I ever get to where I am trying to kill the ball…the very next swing I think smooth all the way. No aggressive or jerky motion for the entire swing. This usually gets my swing back in the groover right away, instead of the dreaded snow ball effect with your game, getting worse and worse.

The last simple tip is the big pause at the top before you come down. I mean pause! When you’re hitting balls at the range, make 10 swings with a 2 second pause at the top, before you make your move down. The first couple of swings will be hard. Your contact with the ball will be terrible…but after a while you’ll get to where you can make good contact almost everytime.

Golf Swing Trainers Can Help

The use of golf swing trainers to improve tempo can be very effective. In fact, I strongly recommend you do. One training aid I really like is the Medicus Golf Club. This club is one of the most effective training aids for not only tempo, but swing plane and path.

For the sake of this article, we are talking about tempo. When you take the Medicus back with a jerk it breaks. When you come down too quickly it breaks again! When you first use this…you’ll get very frustrated…but it will open you eyes to how slow (and smooth) you really need to swing to not break the hinge.

Your golf swing tempo can make or break your performance. Work on it and your scores will show it. Don’t…and let your playing partners blow the doors off you every time you play them.
